I finished Inktober 2016!

I started doing the inktober initiative last year (inktober 2015), this is a 31-day-31-drawings-using-ink challenge initiated by Jake Parker.

One of the goals for challenges like this (even in photography they have the 365 photos a year) is for the artist to produce a positive habit. And I should say that it did its work well. I haven’t stopped the habit, i couldn’t end the day without a simple sketch or a work-in-progress digital painting so once the inktober 2016 arrived I passed my ipad to my gf for her to use the whole month while I got me my first sketchbook. It wasn’t easy at first because it’s literally been a year since i drew anything traditionally, but the excitement really kicked in and I finished the 31 day challenge with 51 drawings! haha. I did most of the drawings at work during tea and lunchbreaks and at home, esp during weekends. I couldn’t stop with just one drawing. i did not follow the prompt list they suggested this year as I just wanted to draw what i felt like drawing for the day. most of the entries are portraits since i’ve been working hard trying to improve my understanding on portraiture, some are basically what caught my attention while drawing: tv show characters, an interesting quite street with nice architecture, po frm kungfu panda, my girlfriend, could be a photo that popped up on the timehop app, and so on. i really enjoyed drawing on my sketchbook, in fact I now carry 2 small sketchbooks with me all the time, one in my pocket and another in my bag. some of these sketches I hope to do repaint digitally in the coming days so Hope you guys stay tuned and enjoy ^^
